Here’s how it works:
The Neighborhood Council within Council District 8 that submits the most MyLA311 service requests between now and March 31 will win.
The prize for the winning Neighborhood Council includes:
- A City-supported community clean-up in an area of our choosing
- A neighborhood block party 🥳
- And of course, major bragging rights within Council District 8
More importantly, submitting service requests helps demonstrate to the City where resources are needed. City departments often prioritize neighborhoods that actively report issues, which means the more requests we submit, the more attention and budget allocation 💰 our community receives.
This is one of the simplest ways we can advocate for View Heights and our Parks Mesa Heights neighboring communities to bring more city services into our neighborhood.
Now is the time to report issues you see around the community. Submitting a request takes just a few minutes using the MyLA311 app or website.
Examples of things you can report include:
- Tree trimming requests
- Bulky item pickup
- Streetlight repairs
- Street sweeping requests
- Illegal dumping
- RV removal
- Abandoned vehicles
- Red curb repainting at intersections
- Graffiti removal
- Potholes or street repairs
How to Participate
- Create an account by downloading the MyLA311 app or visit myla311.lacity.org.
- Submit requests for issues you see within Park Mesa Heights. Requests submitted in other parts of the city do not count toward our neighborhood totals, so please focus on issues located in Park Mesa Heights and the View Heights area.
- Encourage your neighbors, friends, and family to participate.
A few helpful tips:
- Duplicate requests are allowed. If multiple people report the same issue, each request still counts toward our total.
- However, when you enter a request into the system that has already been reported, you HAVE TO choose NEW REQUEST - not Duplicate. If you choose Duplicate, it will not count. **EVERY REQUEST IS A NEW REQUEST**
- If you notice 10 issues that need service, share those with your neighbors so they can submit reports as well. Every request helps increase our numbers.
To make it even easier to participate, members of the View Heights Block Club Board have compiled the below PDF list of service requests that members of the community can enter into their accounts.
Again, CHOOSE NEW REQUEST - even if the MyLA311 system says the request has already been submitted by another member of the community.
Every request helps. If we all take a few minutes to report issues we see, we can lead the district and win the challenge.
